What TipLedger collects

Nothing, on our own servers — there are none. TipLedger has no accounts, no sign-in, and no backend server of any kind.

Where your data lives

On your device, in TipLedger's local database. TipLedger does not sync your records to iCloud or anywhere else. To keep a copy or move to a new phone, Settings → Backup exports a full backup file that you save wherever you choose — for example, Files or your own email.

Your records never leave your device unless you export them. The only network connection the app makes on its own is to Apple's App Store (StoreKit) for purchases.

What TipLedger never stores

Social Security numbers, Employer Identification Numbers, or any other government ID number. W-2 reconciliation fields you type in are stored only if you choose to save them, and only ever as plain box values — never a photo or scan of the W-2 itself.

Mileage, expenses, and goals

Mileage logs, 1099 expense entries, and savings goals are stored the same way shift records are: on your device only. None of it is used for anything beyond showing it back to you. Location is used only while you track a drive, to measure its distance.

Analytics and advertising

None. TipLedger contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking code.

Payments

TipLedger Pro purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store; we never see your payment card details.

Your data, your control

In-app Settings let you export a full copy of your data as a file you control, or delete everything, at any time.
